We carry out the mission of conserving, enhancing and restoring forest biodiversity.
- To establish appropriate forest biodiversity conservation strategies for each climate zone, we evaluate forest ecosystems and resources by climate zone.
- By collecting forest plants by climate zone and region, we secure genetic resources and strengthen the ex-situ conservation function of the arboretum for the sustainable utilization of genetic resources.
- To conserve the seed genetic resources collected from forest plants, we operate a seed bank and the Baekdudaegan Global Seed Vault (BGSV).
- To ecologically restore degraded forests, we build information systems on the status of degraded areas and develop ecological restoration technologies.
- We build a database for the utilization of our plant resources and provide information-sharing services to the public.
- We develop and supply industrial materials to support the green bio industry. Additionally, we operate the Bio Startup Support Center to disseminate technology to forest farmers, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

We operate various programs to provide high-quality arboretum services.
- By utilizing the arboretum, we offer a wide range of exhibitions, cultural, and artistic content.
- We spread arboretum culture through demand-oriented educational programs and customized visitor services.
- We develop and provide various digital-based services such as a Virtual Reality (VR) arboretum and online education, allowing people to experience arboretum content anytime and anywhere.

We engage in activities to promote garden culture and the garden industry.
- We operate programs to train professionals in the garden sector and create jobs.
- By expanding garden infrastructure, we contribute to transforming the entire nation into green spaces.
- We consult on and monitor the establishment of smart garden projects applying automation technology to improve working and user environments of facilities such as industrial complexes, medical institutions, and public facilities, ensuring people can enjoy garden culture close to their daily lives.
- We develop evaluation indicators and efficient operational plans to enhance the quality of national, local, and private gardens.
- We promote the culture of growing houseplants (pet plants), and improve and distribute garden plants.
